Let’s Read Together: January Edition

January always feels like a quiet reset — slower mornings, earlier nights, and a little more space to return to the things that ground me. For me, that’s reading.

This month’s reading list felt wonderfully varied, spanning love and loss, identity, family dynamics, race, resilience, and the quiet ways our past shapes who we become. From deeply emotional novels to stories rooted in place and culture, each book explored connection. Connections between people, between generations, and between the lives we imagine and the ones we actually live. Some were tender and nostalgic, others heavy and thought-provoking, and a few offered the kind of escapism January seems to call for. Together, they made for a layered and meaningful start to the year.

As I move through the year, I want to start something simple and fun: an informal monthly book club.

Each month, I’ll share what I read. There’s no pressure, no rules, and no required reading list. Just stories shared between people who love books as much as I do.

If you’ve read any of the books I share — or if you end up picking one up — I’d love to hear your thoughts. Send me a message on Instagram and tell me what you loved, what you didn’t, or which book you think I should read next.

Here’s to more stories, more connection, and making space for the small rituals that bring us joy.

Until next month’s reads.
